Gainesville Weekend of Action @ Panera Bread

Senator Kaine will be coming to Gainesville on Tuesday 8/14 for a Back to School Neighbor to Neighbor Conversation. To prepare for that and make sure that we get people out for him, we will be doing a canvass and phone bank launch over the weekend focused on inviting people to the event on Tuesday. Everything necessary will be provided. We will be going out in shifts, with shifts starting at 10 am, 12 pm, and 3 pm on Saturday and 12 pm and 3 pm on Sunday.

Community Unity Against Hate @ Conway-Robinson State Forest

Let us as a community gather to rally against hate. Come meet and hear local elected officials, faith leaders and community leaders. Get to know organizations that do great work in our community and meet your neighbors of Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park. Official program begins at 2pm and runs till 3pm. Feel free to hike around and explore Conway Robinson State Forest.

Please bring canned or dry food to stock the NVFS food pantry and/or personal hygiene items for ages newborn to elderly. Let’s help NVFS ensure that everyone in need, at every stage of life, maximizes their potential and fully contributes to a thriving community.

Disclaimer: This is an outdoor event. Please bring camp chairs if you need to sit. There is NO running water and NO public restrooms.

Annual 10th CD Committee Awards Ceremony

You are invited to join members of the 10th Congressional District Democratic Committee special guests Senator Jennifer Wexton and Attorney General Mark Herring, other elected officials, local Democrats and members of the Blue Wave for an evening of wine and politics in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley as we gear up to flip the 10th and send Senator Wexton to Washington, D.C.

All attendees will enjoy a buffet dinner, musical entertainment by Anne Stokes, and the opportunity to recognize fellow Democrats for their contributions to the 10th CD.

We will be recognizing the winners of both the “Mark Herring Award” given for lifetime service to Democratic causes and the first annual “Mary Ann Hovis Award” presented to an outstanding Young Democrat in the 10th CD.

Join Equality Loudoun at the Loudoun County School Board meeting at 6:30pm. We are urging the school board to reconsider adding LGBTQ protections to the nondiscrimination policy. Wear purple to show your support for our LGBTQ community. Meetings are open to the public and begin at 6:30pm SHARP! Join us after the meeting at Whole Foods in Ashburn to chat and plan.
